KS3 Maths
Our students worked through various practice questions on Surface Area of Cones & Spheres. We looked at different types of questions such as calculating the surface area of the 3D shape or rearranging the relevant equation to find the missing radius. 📏📐
Our students worked through each question step- by- step as illustrated to ensure that they apply their mathematical knowledge and skills to solve each problem.

11+ English- A Reading Comprehension
A 11+ specialised comprehension lesson aims to help our students understand the passage; demonstrate understanding of inference in the passage; show understanding of meanings in context and be able to collate evidence and quotations to support explanation-based answers.

A Year 8 Chemistry lesson on Earth Science- Rocks 🌍🪨🌊
This topic associates with Physical Geography which is an example of a cross-curricular topic that involves establishing patterns of information between different academic subjects.
Students tend to enjoy learning about Earth Science as it develops a sense of curiosity and excitement of the natural phenomena.

A very engaging and differentiated session on ‘finding percentages % of amounts’. ✏️📒
Solving a multi-step maths problem can be challenging for students as it involves the use of multiple skills such as highlighting the key information from the question; breaking down the information into key steps and working towards the answer by using the method that best suits them.
This technique helps students assess their prior knowledge and think aloud whilst solving the problem, which can be a great practice for students to feel independent in their learning.

11+ Maths-Algebra- rearranging and substitution. ✏️📝📐 Our fabulous students learnt numerous skills and tricks in this topic area to tackle different types of 11+ algebraic questions such as how to rearrange an equation to solve for the unknown; substitute known terms and values to find the unknown value and to solve a real-life example problem by applying the methods learnt.
We hope you all enjoyed the workshops this week and we are looking forward to holding more topic enhancement classes in the Easter holidays! 😊

KS3 Biology- One of our very hard working Year 7 students has been learning about Specialised Cells and how different cells have a specific role. They have special features that allow them to do these jobs.
